Glock 17 Selector Switch - SHOT Show Range Day was the buzz around the microphone that brought out the Franklin Armory. They reveal the Glock's binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. The trigger/release mechanism is designed for use with a Glock. We took a closer look at the show floor and photographed it on the day of the show.
When Franklin Armory came out with the binary trigger it had always been a dream to have one for a Glock. Until now, it seemed impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory did just that. Life finds a way. Glock's binary trigger is called the G-S173.
Glock 17 Selector Switch
Franklin Armory makes a Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but it's not an easy replacement. To use the Glock's double trigger, they did magic with the slide to make the trigger work. So when you buy a Glock binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You need to equip your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.
Why The Glock 18 Might Just Be The Gun That Can't Be Beat
You can see that the Glock dual slide is not the same as the standard Glock 17 OEM slide. The slide has a cutout for magic.
Just like other binary triggers, the Glock binary trigger has a selector switch. This is the switch on the left side of the slider. Twist it to make one pull. Roll it down to drag/drop into binary mode.
Franklin Armory had two prototypes on hand. A good looking prototype is cut out below.
Below is another prototype. Not sure if they will offer optic cutting or not, they are still deciding. I hope they do. They are also exploring options with cut slides.

I also shot it on Range Day. I found something that makes it a little different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also took a close-up shot of the trigger in slow motion to see how it behaves in binary mode. I learned some interesting things about this bomber at high speed.
If you look carefully in slow motion, you'll see that the trigger resets in two stages when released. It goes on about halfway and the player is released to shoot the next round. Then, when the slide stops moving back and forth, the trigger is pushed forward to the final position, where you continue to pull the trigger back again for the next shot.
Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock Dual Mod G-S173 for $899. While some may be sticker shock, keep in mind that a regular binary trigger is around $300 and an HK binary trigger is $700. That makes the slider just $199 extra. You still need to equip your barrel and recoil spring.
